Today I’m joined by Jameson Leasure, our senior new home expert here at the Huffaker Group, to talk about what you should look for in a new construction company when choosing one to build your home.

The first thing you want to look at is the company’s history. Do they have a strong reputation in the community, or are they a fly-by-night builder?

The next thing to consider is their materials. Are they using brand-name materials with benefits? Are their carpets scotchgarded? Are they using dimensional shingles? Things like this really set a home, and a column, apart.

You don’t want to buy the most affordable home – you want the best value.

Finally, you need to know if they have energy-efficient features. Do they go above and beyond to make the home cost-effective and add value? Are the windows energy efficient? You really want a builder that’s going to go the extra mile for you here.

If you find a builder who is reputable, uses great materials, and goes above and beyond to build you the best home possible, it really makes your purchase a great investment. You don’t want to buy the most affordable home on the market, but you do want to buy the best value.

If you have any questions about buying a new home or about anything else related to real estate, please feel free to give us a call or send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
