People tend to think that the best time to sell your home is during spring or summer months. However I’d like to let you know that fall can also be a great time to list.
Today, I want to share the top three advantages of selling your home in the fall:
Smaller supply with big demand can allow for higher pricing.
- Less competition. Fewer people tend to list later in the year, which means buyers have fewer options on the market. This helps to make your home even more attractive. Also, smaller supply with big demand can allow for higher pricing.
- Buyers are more motivated. A lot of people buying right now are very serious about doing so. Not many buyers are going to search the market during this time of year unless they’re truly committed to finding a home. Sometimes in the spring or summer markets, buyers are just dabbling in the possibility.
- Corporate relocations. Many companies in the area tend to relocate their employees toward the end of the year, in preparation of a strong launch for the year ahead. This means that these buyers are generally going to try to find something before December. You also won’t have to worry as much about finances, since corporate relocation packages will assist them in buying your home.

I never thought that selling during the later months of the year can help get a higher selling price due to the lack of people finding a house. Speaking of houses, my mother wants to sell her old house down south in order to renovate her new house up north.
